fraud sometimes amounts to dumb luck
the title of this thread reminds me about an amusing incident at one of the IM companies i worked for (no names!). we collected revenue from Google ads, but one of our developers made the mistake of adding javascript code which enabled the user to click on not just the ad link, but any area in the cell that contained the link (supposedly making it easier to click on the ad). the inadvertent upshot of this was that if the user clicked directly on the URL link Google got 2 requests for the ad. i believe we ended up double billing to the tune of around six million dollars before Google finally caught on. boy, there were some red faces when that little fiasco was brought to light!
