Default Google now offers domain registration

Google is now offering domain registration for $10 a year. This price includes private registration at no additional cost, which makes their price lower than those who have lower registration prices but charge extra for the private registration.

As many of you know, private registration might have some advantages but it also has some disadvantages. It will reduce the spam you receive, but there are many who won't deal with certain types of operations if they use private registration because it can look like they are trying to hide.

Google is offering this domain registration for people who sign up for their Google Apps and don't have their own domains. Google takes care of all the work for them.

At the present time they offer registration for .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info domains. Google has said they plan to offer registration for other domains in the future.

Google has been an ICANN Accredited Registrar for a good while. However they have teamed up with GoDaddy and eNom for these $10 registrations.
