I'm also quite familiar with this subject (I am the creator of some software along those lines). The biggest thing to watch for is unique content. Most software out there simply rearranges sentences or reuses sentences from a small group of articles. In the end they create hundreds of pages of content from a few articles, but you end up with almost all duplicate content. There are better ways to do it, but i'm not going to plug my own software here
