In case no one noticed, for the past couple of months, I've been a ghost on the forum due to an increasingly busy schedule. Though my schedule is still fairly tight, I'm revamping my personal practices over the next three months to help increase my productivity. Starting with my attention management.
A lot of time can be spent entertaining time wasters online. A time waster can be
anything -- people, websites, applications, games, or anything that consumes too much time without giving you real, tangible benefits. Don't worry, I don't consider 5 Star to be a time waster; in fact, I consider it the complete opposite.
Because I found myself giving too much time to these time wasters and not enough time to the things I found to be beneficial, it's forced me to into this revamping of my personal practices. One of the major changes that will be taking place is how I schedule my time and activities online.
From now on, fluctuating schedule permitting, I'll be a lot more active in the forms. My most active times (i.e. the times I'm allotting to personally viewing each section of the forum and responding) will be Tues. and Wed. afternoons.
However, I'll still be closely monitoring certain forum topics via e-mail and RSS. Whenever I spot a topic that I can quickly chime in on without disrupting my schedule, I'll definitely do so.
The topics that I'll be watching include:
- Newbie Affiliate Forum
- Search Engine Marketing and SEO Forum
- Affiliate Inspiration & Motivation Forum
- Web 2.0 Marketing & Social Networking Forum
- RSS and Blog Marketing Forum
And, of course, I'll continue to do my moderator duties (i.e. watching out for spam, answering questions when they arise, and other good stuff like that).
That's pretty much it for the update. It's definitely good to be back.
