Nothing personal here please understand, but I have developed a real "issue" with people who grab up domains and park them simply because they want to rake in a fortune off those who really want them but before you get all upset with me, let me explain what I keep running into...

For 7 years I've had this issue and I'm the one who has to answer to and try to explain to clients why their domains aren't available when they go look at them and see either A) nothing there but ads or a non-relevant page, B) an offer to purchase the domain at an outrageous price or C) a typical host-parked page...

I do a lot of non-profit sites. Right now I'm working on one for a group in my community that fights drugs. Every single name they wanted was a parked domain. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Now we sit here and cannot come up with a name. We've been at this for over a month.

This is a private-funded group that hasn't a lot of money to pay off domain name auctioneers. This group is doing a wonderful service to the community, all voluntary, yet they cannot even get their chosen domain name because of people who lap up domains like water in hopes of profiting off innocent victims like this.

There's always a flip side to these issues and sometimes I think some of these tactics are a bit unconscionable. It has gotten to be extremely frustrating under my circumstances. Oftentimes these people aren't all that computer savvy and just cannot understand the whole process and I get frowned on because they think I can somehow magically make these domains available. Well, I'm just one little web developer working her butt off; there's no way I can pay off domain auctioneers to help my clients.

Sorry...no one I deal with in my daily existence would understand this so it's kind of good to get this off my chest with those who know what I'm talking about. And please, again, don't take this personally as I also understand the workings of this process from a business persons' stand point. I just wish there were a happy medium for all so these good, giving people wouldn't suffer as they do...
