gobear2000, you are talking about turnkey sites. Turnkey sites are content sites without much content, revenue earning sites without much of any revenue, ecommerce sites without any products, a site that is not complete and is of no benefit to visitors or sites that are produced with a common scipt or software and has no unique content.
Another view of turnkey sites is that they are fully developed sites that are ready to go but doesn't have any traffic or revenue.
These are cookie cutter sites that you usually pay for. Hundreds or even thousands of other people could have the same site. There is usually a problem in trying to change and optimize for search engines and it is often difficult to get traffic for such sites.
You are much better off having your own website. It isn't as difficult to learn how to do as you might think. But you can always hire someone to do it for you. It is really worth it to have your own site that you designed yourself or had someone else design for you.
You would also want to register your domain name and find a good hosting company to host your site.
