5 Star Server Move - HEADS up - Backup Files, Possible Downtime
The forum is so busy sometimes it just brings our new server to it's knees. We just moved to a dedicated VPS in January but are running out of memory so you may have noticed some down time and time-outs.
So moving to a HUGE new dedicated server with 4Xs the memory, since the forum is getting so big and busy. The move is planned for Friday or Saturday.
There SHOULD be no problems, BUT if you have any important PMs you want to save - you should download them just in case.
There could be about 20 minutes when the forum is down as the database gets moved. Not sure when that will be exactly but you will get a message saying the forum is temporarily closed.
Also there could possible be DNS issues and people in some parts of the world may not be able to get to 5 Star for a short period of time.
COULD BE THERE IS NO DOWNTIME or DNS lag at all
but thought it better to alert you in advance, just in case.
