I know Amit's blog, that's how I found the 5 Star Affiliate Forum :-)
I think Amit's blog post relates more to already established keywords where you have enough clicks to make an informed decision on how to adjust your bids.
I was thinking more about when you first establish a list of keywords, where you want to make sure that you receive enough clicks to gain that information, without breaking the bank?
