A new people search engine is about to be launched that promises to give more targeted results on queries about people than the major search engines.
The information is obtained from LinkedIn, Flickr, Wikipedia, MySpace, Ning, Xanga and other sources. There is nothing from Facebook or any sites that require passwords.
Members can contribute information about themselves or others, which means that some of the information isn't going to be correct. They plan to launch with a database of 100 million people.
Launch is expected within a few weeks. Right now it is an invitation-only "beta" test, but you could have a chance to participate.
The name of this new people search engine is Spock and here is the link
