I respect your opinion on email marketing. But I also have a diffrent view on this. An email list that you built through your own efforts may work so long as you do it properly and without being too spammy. I do a lot of promotional campaigns that gets traffic. My best bet at getting targetted traffic is thru PPC, targetted link backs and forum sigs. This is also my opinion - everything done properly and aimed at your target audience would yield best results
