MySpaces' are indeed used for advertising purposes and surprisingly they do well! Unfortunately, I dislike and hate MySpace. It's just annoying and has resulted in several lives being solved and to many they have resulted in nice $$!
I have been looking into a bot which invites friends and says that one can get upto 1000 friends in a day. I'll try to get the link and post it here when I get it
