$200 MVP Contest - Extended til May 31st - Anyone Can Win!

Mike, Teli and I have been trying to think of some good contests and will have more on the way soon.

This is one I just decided to do on the spur of the moment, based on just getting nominated to be "promoted" on another forum that does something similar - but they aren't giving away any money - only the recognition of the special title and member status.

Whats a 5 Star MVP?
MVP typically stands for Most Valuable Player. Here at 5 Star it also means Most Valuable Poster.

How do I become a 5 Star MVP?
You need to have 100 posts to qualify. But they need to be good posts that add value to our community. WHY? Because once you hit 100 posts one of the mods or another MVP needs to nominate you. Then another member needs to 2nd the motion. So as you can see it takes a special commitment and is also special recognition.

All posts don't need to be long articles or take lots of time. You can answer questions, welcome others, link to good articles or news stories for discussion - but only ones our members would be interested in. If you just post a bunch of one liners you may hit 100 posts but will not get nominated. You need to contribute in a positive way and contribute to other member's success to get the vote of your 5 Star peers.

How do I WIN the $200 PRIZE???(Edited slightly to make it more fun.)
Everyone that reaches 100 posts by MAY31st is eligible to win the cash and/or be nominated for MVP. So EVERYONE that reaches 100 posts has a shot to win, not just the 1st person to reach it. During the 1st week in JUNE the mods will vote on the 1st MOST VALUABLE MVP and the winner of the $200 prize. The mods will also nominate and vote-in any other members that reach the posting goal, that we feel have the makings of an MVP. The nominations and winner will be announced by JUNE 8th.

The contest runs through the end of MAY. So start posting and sharing today! Lots of you could be MVP's. Only one will be the 1st MVP and win the cash.

Previous Winners from the 1st 5 Star Posting Contest are not eligible. (So sorry Steph and My2Cents. You've been active since the beginning, therefore have so many more posts than others that it would not give them incentive to try to catch up with your post count. You both were the 1st BIG 5 STAR CONTEST winners and alreadyy won $100 each and are still winners in my book.) We will be starting some other contests soon that you can win that don't depend on post count.

Sorry but mods aren't eligible since they already have mod status (and some already have over 100 posts.) (I'll have contests you guys can win too soon.)

Just made a couple changes an updates to make it more fair and fun and give more new members a chance to win.

I see certain people really gearing up to win this competition
and there are starting to be more and more great posts.
Starting to feel more like a COMMUNITY which is the goal.

Also, I have a couple of suggestions to make this forum better, just not sure where to post it Also, can you please enable Memberlist? and can we get an update on how many members have reached the 100 post mark

Opening the member list is not something I want to do for a variety of reasons. But I can tell you no one has close to 100 posts yet except a couple mods, which are not eligble for the contest. The 2 people with the highest post counts even close to 100 are not eliible either as stated above because they have already won cash in our 1st posting contest and this one is to get more new people posting. The forum is fairly new and really just started getting busy in January so lots of chances to win. I probably will have a runner up prize. I like to give prizes.

Just buried right now trying to move so have not had the time I to flush out all the details.

Yep it's June so the contest is over. I totally blew it because I didn't promote the contest like I should have. But oh well....

I still have $200 to give away to the MVP winner which will be determined by the mods this weekend - but guess who I think has worked the hardest to earn it and has over 100 posts.... I wonder who...
