By last quarter I made 1.5 million banner impression for GTE & manage few hundred clikcs
Worst still - I earned a BIG ZERO

I know they have a good inventory with saleable products, fitness related, most are known items as they are seen on tv prods. But for me it turned a crap.

I belive throwing some banners to the visitors wont make any money, other than annoying them you are giving out free link to some external site. lol

I think one need to do presell before send visitors to the marchant site. Am I missing anything Linda?

Yes Banners don't work well - but if you use them they really need to be on WELL targeted pages with a little pre-sell. You could have a million views on a site about baby names but if the banner is about a popular sports product still never make any sales because the traffic is not targeted enough.

Datafeeds really offer the highest conversion rates - you just need to be creative to avoid duplicate content penalties with the search engines. Bunch of content about datafeeds and a beginners article in my sig. If you have questions about feeds, best to ask them down in the datafeed forum where others with similar interestes can read it.

GT converts well if the visitor is targeted... I find about 1:100 clicks I send to GT results in a sale...

I should say... I have a tv deals site... so my visitors is very targeted...

I have had no success with banners... and limited success with static pages...
I have moved over to feed pages... a year ago.. now the pages are much easier the keep updated...

As Linda said... go to the datafeed forum.. to learn about feeds.. you can also search g or y for datafeed help... there are lots of really good places to get help..
