I like your design very much. the only thing I'd change is the color of the top bacground to a warm color like dark red and some red and orange so it'll fit a bit better.
You want an awesome idea? here it is: Send an email to ALL the submission software owners to add your directory to their list. They try to update their lists all the time and you'll get a lot of traffic through them.
