Default A search engine that talks to you

I am fascinated by search engines, so I will probably be posting about a lot of search engines in the future.

We all hear plenty about the major search engines, with Google getting the most attention. But some of the smaller search engines or new search engines sometimes have some interesting features which don't receive much attention and are later adopted by one of the major search engines and then get all types of praise. That is one of the many reasons I like to test new search engines as well as the smaller search engines.

Here is one that has actually been around for a while. I have been having fun with it for a couple of years. The main feature is that it will talk to you. You search and you will get Google results, but they will be read to you. There is a choice of male or female voices.

To some people it is nothing more than a novelty item, and that is what attracted me to it. But for some people, such as people with vision problems, it can have some practical applications.

In addition to the search engine that talks, this site also has a talking bot you can carry on a conversation with if you would like. You can ask it questions or you can tell it to say certain things. For example, type "say you are a smart person" and it will say you are a smart person. If no one has anything good to say about you, this bot will say all the good things you want.

You will also find a good collection of audio books in several different categories for your MP3 Player, iPod or SmartPhone.

There are also several newsfeeds that you can hear.

Here is a link to all of this so you can check it out Helm v4 : The Windows Multi-Server WebHosting Control System

Edit: Speegle is no longer available
