Sedo has introduced a new auction service for the sale of domain names. It is mainly to help try to get the most out of high-value premium domain names.
This new seven-day auction platform is to augment the traditional model where the sale prices are negotiated for the domain names posted for sale.
Domain names are put up for sale using the traditional model. Those that receive several offers from several different people can then move the sale to the auction model.
Sedo has approximately 6 million domain names for sale and over 500,000 users.
