RSS Datafeeds for Affiliates - POST THEM HERE!!!

I see the question popping up in affiliate forums at least once a week it seems. "Does anyone know of affiliate programs that offer RSS product feeds?" I have blogged about the need for merchants to offer affiliates RSS datafeeds several times. Most retailers are offering product feeds, even some of the newer affiliate networks offer the option, so I'm just not certain why more merchants are not offering this tool to affiliates. Is it the challenge of incorporating the affiliate ID or interfacing with your affiliate network? Whatever the reason, there is a way to do it if you realize the need and make it a priority.

I blogged about this AGAIN today and am starting this thread to encourage merchants with RSS feeds to post about it here. Then as affiliates on other boards ask me for merchants that have RSS I can tell them about you. Hey it's FREE publicity and thousands of affiliates could see your name and program link at some of the forums I post at - so hit me up and take this opportunity to add your program.

Affiliates - know of any merchants offering RSS feeds? Post them here too!

I know of a couple so will be hunting down their links and adding them later today.

RSS DATAFEED LIST REQUEST - Please post:

~ Name of the merchant and link to the site

~ Type of products they sell

~ Type of of RSS feed if you know (coupons, product feed or just affiliate news)

I dont remember where I read about this but here is a program that says they offer an RSS feed.

Back when Heather Paulson was the affiliate manager for X10, I'm pretty certain she mentioned they had an RSS datafeed. I think she was one of the 1st to implement one. She's with PartnerCentric, one of my clients now and I don't know the new AM. Anyone know if they have one. Products: Looks like sports products, mainly books about sports
Type of Feed: "These RSS feeds contain our Championship Productions Featured Items. These are our newest releases, best sellers and "hot" products. The RSS feed will contain approximately 10 - 35 products depending on the sport."

SMART this is what merchants need to do! Short list of featured or new products by category. So affiliates that have a site or blog about green widgets and blue widgets can just add the right featured products without having to add the entire store datafeed.

A friend and collegue Ian Larsen has a product called www.CouponFeeder.com that offers instantly updated coupons from a variety of merchants. I believe one of the formats is RSS. Hot idea for coupon sites! Imagine never having to update coupons manually again.

Anyone else know of merchants with RSS feeds?

And yes, we do lot of interesting things with RSS. Here is a preview of what we do:

(1) RSS Coupon Feed: Pre-coded with affiliate-id and coupon-code. Link: http://www.montred.com/affiliates/to....php?affid=999

(2) RSS Product Feed: Pre-coded with affiliate-id. Link: http://www.montred.com/rss-category-all.xml?affid=999

(3) RSS Product Feed per Category: Pre-coded with affiliate-id. Link (For Three Stone Diamond Rings category): http://www.montred.com/rss-category-....xml?affid=999

In all these examples, simply insert your affiliate-id instead of '999'.

And if this was not enough, we provide scripts to our affiliates that allows them to generate MontRED RSS feeds with unique content.

Btw.. I'm always interested to hear your comments and suggestions. Aren't these interesting times?

hehehe.. That always works.

As for RSS, forgot to mention the new tool from MyDataFeedScripts. They worked on a customizable ticker script that pulls down the MontRED RSS coupon datafeed and displays MontRED coupons in a slideshow format.

So no maintenance, no expired coupons, and no frustrated visitors.

A very smart use of our RSS feeds.

We just signed on with GoldenCAN to offer easy access to our product feed, at no cost to affiliates (i.e. "free of 4th click").

If you prefer to handle our feed without GoldenCAN, you can always access it via Shareasale. After you become our affiliate, just request access and I will grant it right away.
