Amazon gift certificates make GREAT gifts for people when you are not sure what to get them - or just for last minute gifts. They should be hot sellers this holiday season. WARNING - most affiliate programs don't pay commission on gift certs so if you send visitors to a merchant but they buy a gift cert, many times you lose the sale cuz i'ts not commissionable.
Just saw over at Ros Gardner's blog that Amazon is paying out 6% on GC just through the holidays.

"Referrals from Amazon Gift Certificates will earn a flat 6% referral rate. Affiliates will still earn the 6% referral fee even if visitors click on a product they are promoting and buy a Gift Certificate instead.
Two downsides - Gift certificates will not count toward unit tiers and the promotion lasts only through December 31, 2006."
