Learn about Shopster.com and our new Shareasale affiliate program...

Some of you may have read about Shopster (www.shopster.com) a few months back in 5SAP. I want to let you know that we have just launched an affiliate program through Shareasale.

This program promises to be an interesting one...Shopster pays out $60 per annual subscription and $7.49 per monthly subscription to our service. (FYI An annual subscription costs $299, and a monthly subscription costs $29.95).

N.B. The commissions are residual i.e. you are paid commissions for as long as your referred customer is a subscriber to Shopster. Also, the program has two tiers so you can make money referring people to the program. 25% is paid on the second tier.

To learn more about Shopster I have put together 2 audio casts. The first gives a background into Shopster, and the second gives a background into the affiliate program.

We're going to be rolling out lots of PR soon so you all should be hearing a lot more about Shopster in the near term. The beta test went great and we're really starting to make an impact on the online market.

have they made any progress on lowering their shipping costs? last time i checked it was still super high (ie, $9 to ship a dog collar).

Hi Jened,

Sorry for the late reply - i missed your post. Shipping is currently calculated anywhere in the US using the same shipping rate as buy.com. It is done by weight. Because we have over 700,000 products for you to offer, we don't go through each one individually and calculate a special shipping amount. It's currently all based on weight and exactly the same as buy.com published rates.

Here's a note about shiopping time...

The average shipping time for standard shipping is as follows: Standard - Average 6 to 9 business days from ship date for domestic, 9 to 12 business days for international.

The average shipping time for expedited shipping is as follows: Expedited - Average 2 to 7 business days from ship date. (Available only on domestic purchases.)

We utilize UPS for most deliveries, and will on occasion utilize FedEx, USPS, Canada Post or DHL depending on circumstance.

Here's an update on the terms of the Shopster affiliate program as they have changed. They're better. We now pay out $60 per sale for either annual or monthly subscriptions!

Affiliate Program Details:

Shopster pays out $60 per referred customer who signs up to Shopster. (Shopster charges customers either $329.95 for an annual plan, or $29.95 per month plus a $99 activation fee for a monthly plan). The $60 commission is paid out to affiliates for either a monthly plan sign up, or an annual plan sign up. The Shopster affiliate program offers lifetime/residual commissions, and it’s run on two tiers (the second tier pays out 20% i.e. $12 per sale referred by the affiliates you recruit).
