I am new here but have been lurking a while.

I've created a Shopster site and found it to be really easy to use.

I have a few questions now, sorry if they are newbish.

What would be the best way to drive traffic to my site? PPC? I don't see how it would be possible to do any SEO as I can't really add anything but new products.

Is there a place that lets you add in keywords etc.?

I think my site looks really good and has potential. I just need to figure out the best way to promote it.

there ate several ways to promote your site...

I'll list them in order of ease...

1> PPC
2> presell your products on your other sites
3> let the natural cause and effect of the net take it's toll... (least effective)

PPC is by far the best way to market and promote a shopster site... you should also release a press release... that will bring some attention to you... but be sure to read the shopsterr TOS before you do anything....

Welcome to 5 Star. Glad you came out of lurking mode. Thanks for asking some great questions.

I'll ask James to come by and give you some tips. I need to get him to answer some questions about Shopster on another forum too. He is the wizard and can give you the best possible advice. One other avenue, although I don't know much about it is getting your Shopster site listed on Froogle.

YOU're right.... I forgot about Froogle... becasue you are selling your "own" products... Froogle is an option...

I'd put Froogle #2 on my list....


I wouldnt wait for James to come by... I shoot him and email and ask for his help...

I've worked with James for a while... on other programs... He's more then willing to help is you ask...

I'm really sorry i've been away for so long! Things have been crazy busy and I haven't had time to post in the forum over the last couple of weeks...I really haven't forgotten you all!!!

If you drop me an email (anyone with a Shopster store that's up and running) I'll get a data feed put together for your store and you can submit it to Froogle...

Joe no problem! Totally understand that you must be snowed under with other projects...Shopster is really working out for a large number of our affiliates so it's well worth the effort...

For those of you that go niche and you've already got some decent traffic coming through an existing website (or PPC) you're virually guaranteed to make out using Shopster...One guy is selling musical instruments through his store that's linked his site on making music...He's made lots of big sales...Some of them approaching four figures...

There're a number of dev. tasks that are approaching completion and I'll keep you all posted...Very soon Shopster is going to be even better!

I just wanted to give an update....

if you havent signed up... dont get left behind..!!!

5 star is the only place I've found that shopester has been announced...
I've seen no mention of shopster in any of the big forums...

YES they are in beta... yes they are still working out the "bugs"

personally, I think we affiliates are creating most of the "bugs"... because we don't fully "get it" I know this is my problem... I get it... but am having difficulty getting it (shopster) to do what i want it to do the way I want to do it...

Just remember... gettin in during beta... gives you a head start over the heavy weights who will get in when they hear about it.... you can bank on it!

I believe, shopster is the next generation of affiliate marketing...
