Will David Archuleta or David Cook Win American Idol?

So who do you think will win American Idol - David Archuleta or David Cook???

I think it's probably going to be David C. I'm an old rocker
from way back, so I like him a lot! But I think there are a ton
of good rocker singers and am not sure he's that unique.

I laughed when Simon chose "The 1st Time Ever I saw Your Face,"
made popular by Roberta Flack for David C to sing,
but then I cried when he sang it. Just beautiful!

However, I want Archuleta to win. He's an amazing singer
especially considering he's only 17 years old, has such a
pure soul and I think he could uplift a lot of people.

So what do you think???

I don't like American Idol so I don't watch it. However I understand that in 2003 when David Archuleta was 12 years old he became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search.

I was right the 1st post and wrong last night.
Kinda surprised, I really thought Archuleta was going to take it.
They are both really good.

Linda, I knew I could count on your forum for some Idol chatter. I have to say I was surprised Cooke won. I thought the teeny boppers would out-vote the rocker fans. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I think Cooke will end up being one of the top selling idols but then again I wonder if he would have done better on his own? Either way he's set. A lot of my friends though David Archuletta made the better Idol and Cooke would do better on his own "Archy" will be fine too. I bet an album is already in the works. He's such a cutey.

I've mentioned a few times that I am not an American Idol fan and don't watch it. Therefore I don't see what happens on the show. I do run upon a few things about it in the news, but I usually don't pay them much attention because I am not interested in anything involving American Idol.

There have been a very few times that something in the news about American Idol has caught my eye and I just saw something about David Cook that got my attention. Those of you who are American Idol fans might already be aware of this.

It is about his older brother, Adam Cook, who has brain cancer. I do remember seeing something somewhere where David Cook mentioned that his brother has had cancer for 10 years.

This is a good human interest story about how people came together to make it possible for Adam Cook to be able to make it from Indiana to California to watch his brother perform on American Idol.

Knowing that his brother was on his mind during all of his American Idol run had to keep David Cook worried and probably gave him a little more incentive to win.
