Effective August 28, 2008, Commission Junction ( CJ ) is changing the minimum commission earnings publishers must have before they will receive a payment.
The important thing to notice is the difference between paper checks and direct deposit, with paper checks having a higher requirement.
Commission Junction says the reason they are doing this is to streamline their publisher payment process and to better support environmentally conscious commerce.
For the United States dollar, the new minimum for direct deposit is $50 and the new minimum for paper checks is $100.
Here are the new minimums for some other currencies as given by Commission Junction:
SEK - Direct Deposit 300 -- Paper Check 600
GBP - Direct Deposit 25 -- Paper Check 50
CAD - Direct Deposit 50 -- Paper Check 100
EUR - Direct Deposit 25 --- Paper Check 60
I think it is a good move. Having a low payout amount for checks doesn't make sense financially or environmentally. I'm sure a lot of us have received checks from other companies for less than $5. Is that really necessary?
