Yes it is very frustrating. When a business does this, it makes for a bad first impression - even for big-name, successful companies. After all, I may have to rely on them to pay me some day. Can I expect the same kind of response?
I have to presume either it got lost or they didn't like me/my site. I applied to the most-related advertiser in my niche. I have a real live business with a listed phone number, a business bank account, a blog with decent traffic, a dot com name on a site over 3 years old, my contact info on every page of the blog (so they know I am a legitimate person). I was so let down at being ignored. And left wondering whether to continue to invest my energy.
I really wanted to create another site/blog and build content in order to pursue a different set of advertisers. But boy what a lot of work for nothing.
So disappointed.
