Default 3month EPC

Hi, I'm new to CJ

Please help me to understand when merchants shows amount of dollars in 3 months EPC section is it mean they will pay for clicks or it's just to show how they convert our clicks to sales?

The second question is about how the CJ's code works? I mean they put the code on my site to track my traffic, but what happens after that? Is that code goes to merchant' site and track what my visitor do? The merchant tracks what happens when a visitor goes from my site or CJ?

The answer to question #1 is the latter. It's to give you an idea about how much affiliates on average earnings from that merchant. EPC in CJ terms stands for earnings per hundred clicks. (Not per click).

Regarding your tracking question - you add the affiliate links or banners to your site. The merchant has a tracking pixel on their thank you page that sends the sales data to CJ. So the visitor clicks your link, goes to the merchant site and buys and just the amount of sale and which affiliate made it goes to CJ. Also impressions and clicks are tracked.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Linda, I understand EPC is for hundred, but still don't get the clicks idea because of my English. I'll try again. Is the CJ pays for clicks or just for sales, or for sales, leads, clicks and impressions? I confuse because everywhere CJ listed as a CPA system, but they track clicks and impressions.

Thank you very much for second question. It's very clear for me now.

Most merchants in CJ pay per lead or per sale. None pay per click.

EPC is just a way for you to judge how much you could potentially earn for every 100 clicks you send. They track impressions and number of clicks simply to help you gauge and track your efforts.

If you have a bunch of impressions but no clicks or sales that may tell you that your marketing efforts, ad placement or quality of targeted traffic needs work. On the other hand if you are sending lots of clicks but no ones buying then that could tell you that possibly the merchant is not converting very well.

So you really need to know all 3 numbers: impressions, clicks and sales to be able to evaluate your marketing efforts.
