Default SHAME List for Adware Advertisers?

From the 5 Star Affiliate Blogs »

Adware Advertisers to be Publicly Humiliated - Digital CarJacking

Advertisers May Face Public Humiliation over Adware - CNET News.com

"The FTC would publicly announce and publish the name of a company that advertises using adware that installs itself surreptitiously on consumer PCs or by using spyware, Leibowitz said. He would recommend publicly shaming advertisers to the other FTC commissioners if the adware problem doesn't decrease, he said."

I personally think it's a great idea. It's some of the really big brands that use the Adware and parasitic advertising and I'm not certain they would like the bad PR so it could be a good deterent. What do you think?

I love it! After all the battles I've had on my inlaws computer with spyware, anything that makes it a less popular option is a good thing, even beyond what they do to other affiliates' incomes.

I think this might work against the adware company who keeps on annoying us the users with unnecessary ads that we don't want. The advertiser should use the correct medium to advertise their products and services instead of resorting spamming to get the message across.

I'm a little late to this party, but think that a public list would help educate consumers and business owners alike. An online site with the compiled information would be a good thing.

Best regards,

Denise O'Berry
