Default Your favorite anti-spyware program

Spyware is a nuisance and it helps to have good methods to try to combat it. Good anti-spyware programs can be a very big help.

I have a new favorite to help me deal with spyware, and it is provide by AVG. They call it ewido. It is fantastic and it is free. It has features that will serve you very well.

There is also a commercial version available that has more features. The setup contains both the free and paid versions. After you install it, the full paid version will be actived however it is free for 30 days. After the thirty days are up the extra features of the paid version will be deactive and the free version features will only be available to be used. But the free features are good, but the commercial version does offer even better protection. If you like, you can obtain the features of the paid version whenever you want.

If you want more details about this free anti-spyware from AVG , here is a link. You will also be able to download it from there as well AVG Free Advisor - AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition

I also like Ad-Aware, which is also free. More details and download available here as well as their paid versions Lavasoft

Another one I like is Spyware Blaster. It is free. You can get more details about it and also download it here SpywareBlaster

How about you? What is your favorite anti-spyware program?

Thanks Larry, great topic.

Everyone needs to be careful which program they use, support and recommend to their users because MANY delete or block affiliate cookies.

I use the free one from Microsoft and it seems to work very well.

Default interesting article about cookies and affiliate networks

i don't think i'd be so fast to sing the praises of Ad-Aware and SpyBot. certainly not if you are an affiliate of CJ, LinkShare, or ClickBank. these spyware programs deny affiliate revenue to members of those affiliate networks. they don't even ask the user whether cookies should be blocked by those sites--they just do it by default. i would not be surprised if those affiliate networks start filing class action suits against the spyware makers before too long.

i found an interesting article about this subject just yesterday:

http://www.vinnylingham.com/specialr...kiedetections/

definitely worth reading if you are an affiliate that relies on cookies to collect at least some of your revenue.

Another one that is popular with some people is SUPERAntiSpyware. There is a free version and a paid version. Here is a link to their site in case you want more information and possibly see if this is something that you feel might be right for you SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware!

I pay for my protection now. I Got burned on a .mp3 embedded virus years ago using freeware spy/antivirus software. My IP address was used to perform a DoS attack on Aarons Furniture Corp. HQ so Time Warner (RoadRunner) was kind enough to tell me about it by suspending my service. That blew cause i took me days to clean up my puter.

I use McAfee Total Protection now. No problems.

Definitely spysweeper is the best in terms of efficiency. When compared to the free versions of Ad-Aware and SpyBot, SUPERAntiSpyware is the better option to avail.
