Default Favorite Anti-AdWare Program?

Previously I had asked people here which is their favorite anti virus program. Now, i guess its my time to ask for your favorite anti spyware/adware application.

I was about to install Adaware in my new pc. It has been good to me for the last few years, but just thought of asking you guys on what your favorite program is?

I will leave it because it could be of help to someone else by brining attention to it again and someone might have something to add.

Actually I have thought of one that I'm going to add to http://affiliate-marketing-forums.5s...e-program.html since several are already listed in that thread.

I've heard that Adaware has made a deal with some of the companies and is not detecting their stuff anymore but that's just a theory anyway... Spybot Search and Destroy which is a freeware does all the work for me

There are conspiracy theories about pretty much everything. Ask yourself how much sense it would make for an anti-malware program to deliberately NOT detect malware... and what it would do to their company reputation if they did engage in such a practice.

Default My favorite

My favorite is PC Tools Spyware Doctor. There is a freeware version which is pretty good as it has limited real-time.

Adaware is not really an Anti Virus. It works more like a Malware detection software. I use Avast Home Edition. It's free but you just need to register it once.

In case of Anti virus products, it's a rule that one should have only one AV. But with regard to anti spyware software, there is no such rule. I would prefer PCTools Spyware Doctor

I work in IT support and the only tool I use right now for ridding computers of malware is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. You can get it from malwarebytes.org. I've used Spybot S&D in the past but I consider it obsolete because it's much slower and doesn't detect as many threats.

The way I suggest using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is to keep it updated and run a quick scan as often as you feel necessary. The full scan takes much longer and has never found anything the quick scan has not in my experience.

This is a free program although there is a module you can pay for to prevent malware from ever being installed. I can't comment on the paid module because I've never needed it.

Also you should download and run CCleaner available from ccleaner.com BEFORE you run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to speed up the initial scan process. Just keep in mind running CCleaner with default settings will empty your recycle bin and anything saved in Internet Explorer like passwords and recently visited web sites.
