Just wanted to post a quick note here letting everyone know that the
Datafeed to RSS script I've had in development is being
pre-launched to the 5 Star members.
In another WordPress thread, a number of people asked about the script and when I intended to release (
I even received quite a few private messages), so I decided to set down and finish up the documentation so I can get the script released.
It's still early; I wanted to release it with some video tutorials, but because the demand was so great, the videos will come later. The read me and bonus guide is pretty solid though. I also need to get the affiliate program set up as well (that will most likely happen this weekend).
The purpose of the script is to convert affiliate datafeeds from CSV (comma separated value) format into valid RSS 2.0 format so you can use the RSS to add content to existing websites or import it into your blogs using additional software.
It can handle any CSV file, though it will require pre-formatting; usually takes about 10 minutes, if you really want to clean up and customize the content, or a couple minutes if you just want to make it DF2RSS-ready.
Because I also have a
WordPress Datafeed Import script, I figured it would be a good idea to include a brief guide detailing how you can get a
similar effect using just the DF2RSS script and WP's built-in import tool. Though the WPDFI script is a bit more robust, this is a good way to get some of the benefits of WordPress on a budget (the DF2RSS script is being offered with a discount for under $40).
