International Domain Names?

Any of you guys had success in ranking for a keyword by buying the international domain name of that keyword?

Say, I wanted to rank for mykeyword on Google.com

Is it worth buying mykeyword.it to do it or would that ONLY rank well on Google.it

(I have some international domain names, but don't have enough data on whether this strategy could work from an seo point of view)

Hi Rob,

Interesting idea. I don't know the answer though. I used to do SEO for a living but now barely have time to keep up with the basics much less know about intl domains.

Anyone else???
