Marketing Management Bonus Plans?

I was recently asked to put together a bonus plan for our Marketing Manager. I have never done this before and can't seem to find much information on what is typical:

How are marketing bonuses structured?
What are they based on?
What is the eligibility criteria?

I was wondering if any of you could let me know your experience.

What type of marketing manager? Online marketing? Affiliate Marketing?
If it's an affiliate marketing manager it's typically a % of sales.

But I have a feeling you are asking about a general marketing manager,
in which case I'm not sure.
