Thumbs up Affiliate Advisory Board - NEW!!! Fighting Adware and More!

no adwareTop affiliates joined together for the 1st conference call for the new 'Affiliate Advisory Board'. The group's goal is to discuss all issues of importance to the affiliate marketing industry and of course, one of the most pressing is parasites and Adware. Colin McDougall was one of the top affiliates on the call and did a nice write-up about it. His blog focused on the fact that although adware steals affiliate commissions, there is another important aspect which affects our entire industry. He says the industry needs to be cleaned up because affiliate serps are at risk.

I have said this a millions times and I know I am preaching to the choir, but on a bigger and even more important note, Adware hurts our ENTIRE industry and EVERYONE'S income! Not just affiliates - but also the networks that allow the adware are suffering from lower revenues due to their own actions.

So if you are an affiliate that uses adware...
Or if you promote pay-per-install or activeX programs like ZangoCash that serve adware...
OR if you are a network that allows adware...
You are robbing your own pocketbook!

WHY?

Consumers are bombarded with pops and don't like them. Many of the pops are served by adware and spyware, therefore creating more consumers that buy anti-spyware, internet security and firewall software. Most of this software blocks CJ and other major network ads. MANY of these programs also delete affiliate cookies, which means the merchant will still get the sale but NO affiliate or network will be paid. The more Adware is used the more cookies will be deleted!

Colin is right we need to clean up this industry. And in the famous words of Declan Dunn we all need to do our part and "Market With Integrity!"

Saving an Industry - ReveNews - Colin McDougall "On Friday April 28, the kick-off conference call for “The Affiliate Advisory Board” was held. Top affiliates were represented and I was fortunate enough to be among them. The purpose of this call to discuss important issues that affiliate marketing as whole is facing. The Affiliate Advisory Board has been assembled to address pressing issues in the affiliate marketing industry. At the forefront of the discussion is the need to eliminate parasites and adware."

Colin goes on to say the industry also needs to be cleaned up because affiliate serps are at risk.
Read the rest then come back and talk about it. What do you think???

Exactly! Why don't people understand that. I am glad to know that some people DO CARE about consumers and try to serve them in the best possible way! It's like a new company following Azoogle's path

Feel really great to know that. Now I realize that there IS a chance of the net becoming a better place for people to surf on
