Default control for over affiliate links

Hi Marketers
i hope someone can help with question ,my question being how do you keep
control of a customer after they clicked on your affiliate link ,then there asked to sign up for there newsletter i find this a little hard to swallow espicialy after
paid to drive the traffic to there site.
i might be a little out of line here please let me know.

No not out of line at all! It's good to question merchants and their motives if you think there is a leak or anything that will cause you to lose revenue.

If you are using a typical product based merchant like from CJ, many times you can change the destination link to go directly to the product which could result in higher conversions and bypass the newsletter link on their homepage.

If you are talking about Internet marketing, ebooks and and other types of info products (which I have a feeling is what you are referring to) then yes I can see why you are upset. You to a large degree are just helping them build their list for FREE. If the customer you refer does not buy but the site pops up a big subscribe box or your traffic lands on a squeeze page then I can see why you would object.
