Linda, I mean putting an RSS feed on an actual WEB SITE as opposed to BLOG into the PHP and then each time the content is refreshed through the feed I could ping through pingoat or whatever, to get back links as in the video tutorial posted in this forum by Ross Goldberg? Ross uses the blog as an example of pinging and building backlinks through feeds, I am wondering if I could this on a website NOT a blog?

No can't ping unless it's on a blog platform. It's the blog programming that allows and facilitates the ping.

No I think pinging when all you are doing is sucking someone else's content is considered scraping.

If you have a Wordpress blog...WATCH YOUR PINGING with new posts.

Wordpress has a feature in the admin panel that pings automatically. Also, there is a list of directories you can set it to ping automatically each time you post.

You put that in the "Settings / Writing" area of your Admin panel, you will see once you log in to your blog.

Anyhow...DO NOT double ping! Since WP automatically pings, if you go to Pingoat, and ping again, it can actually get your blog removed from the directory, and you won't know (to my knowledge).
