Ok so 1st some background. I'm checking my stats to see where all this sudden traffic came from. I check a referral link from MSN just curious where I rank for the term.

Check out this page??? Is it broken? Whats the deal? For at least right now all the SERPS are squished together. No line breaks and RAW html links.

Is that what you are seeing? Just a big garbled screen? Probably a glitch and will get fixed so....

So anyway, I go to MSN main and enter affiliate marketing just to see if the serps are messed up on the main search too.

This ad jumps out at me.

I click it just thinking in disgust... "this must be another Rich Jerk type of program that's really rude and insulting."

Now I'm not suggesting AT ALL that you should buy this. I don't know anything about it. But the more I read the copy I realized how clever it was and the video is cute too.

Sample Copy:

"Here I am, sitting in my underwear with signs of Cheetos all over my hands and fingers. And appropriately, also all over my keyboard. I'm taking a giant gulp of Coca Cola as SHE struts into the room...

My heart jumped in a way I've only felt twice before. One time when my life flashed in front of my eyes during a near high-speed traffic accident.

And the other time was 10 years earlier. My high school girl friend walked in on me running my nerdy Bulletin Board System (BBS). Again, covered in Cheetos and drinking Jolt cola."

The lesson to be learned here is that you can SUCK people in by telling a personal story. See how he weaves his geeky self image and his girlfriend throughout the story.

PS. the other lesson to be learned is to always have a real person spell check your copy. His popup email subscription box says SING up.

It's Sponsored PPC ads. But think the page may still be a glitch.

INTERESTING though...

You know those programs like Google Cash Detective that spy on a keep track of Adwords ads so you can see which are affiliate ads and which are profitable? Well this is an easy way to see it on MSN. GCD was $397 or something and sold out in like 3 hours. So this could be a free way to do it although not nearly as automated but still... hmmmmm....

There is also Adspy Pro which I did buy. It's like GCD but only $67.
I got it for 27 on a special deal. BUT have not had time to get it installed
and am now worried about it because I think Google and hosts don't like all
the automated queries. Anyway, just rambling now, but that MSN page is interesting and gives me a few ideas. I'm off to research some more.
