Affiliate Parable: Drop the Big Rocks First

I love Moose on the Loose Parables! Here's another good one that Paul just came up with. The story illustrates a couple points about the importance of making time for the big things in life and how being an affiliate offers you the freedom to make those lifestyle choices.

"The affiliate stood in front of the group of high-powered over-achievers … who said … “Okay, it’s time for a little quiz” and the affiliate pulled out a one gallon demijohn and set it on the table in front of them.

The affiliate also produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the demijohn. When the demijohn was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, the affiliate asked, “Is this demijohn full?” More...

Note for those on this side of the pond. A demijohn is simply a glass bottle.

So the moral of the story is "If you don’t put the big rocks in first, you’ll never get them in at all”… We all know that working online can consume your time and your life if you let it! Don't lose track of what is most important.

What are the ‘big rocks’ in your life? Family, some important life goal, health/fitness, God, a charity or worthy cause, following your dreams, helping others and making a difference in the world?

Your affiliate lifestyle allows you freedom to work your schedule around your life priorities. Just remember to put the big rocks in 1st & let the rest fall into place.

I always liked that one. It's so easy to get distracted by the pebbles or even the grains of sand sometimes. Sometimes it's a good thing my kids are so willing to say what they want.
