Default Bad economy isn't hurting Google

These are bad economic times for some, but Google continues to do very well.

Third-quarter profits were up 26 percent for Google. Revenue was up 31 percent to 5.54 billion dollars.

Most members here are into affiliate marketing and many of them say people can't make much money with AdSense. That depends and there are some people who are doing very well with AdSense.

In the third-quarter, Google paid their advertising partners around one billion five hundred million dollars ($1,500,000,000.00) in commissions, so someone is making money with AdSense. For this year, Google remains on a pace to pay out about twice as much in commissions as all of the affiliate programs combined.

More consumers are shopping online and some advertisers are moving a portion of their budgets from television and print media to target online buyers.

Some sources show Google getting 63 percent of online searches. This dominance makes it possible for Google to charge higher prices for ads.

There has been a reduction in spending by some types of advertisers. Still many analysts expect Google to continue to do well.

Google has reduced its hiring rate and isn't spending as much on travel and events. Google has also been making more efficient use of its computing centers. Containing costs played a large role in the performance of Google.

Right now the future doesn't look bad for Google.

Hi Larwee,

Just goes to show when you have deep pockets like Google nothing can phase them. I am sure they are in position to make the change to what ever that may be if the dollar does finally come to and end...

Its also the best time for affiliate and online marketing as well. Can't ask for a better time, because people are looking more then ever to supplement their income. So the market share will grow and continue to grow...

Just my 2 cents...
