To increase visitors, u have to update content regularly.
Also link your site to good quality sites,this also helps in increasing visitors.

I would also add: give your viewers what theyre looking for. AFter all someone did or will click on your link. Looking to have a question answered or problem solved. I know I personally have referred more than one site just because it was HELPFUL (viral) simple i know, but i think its often forgotten by net marketers. I see WAAAAAAY to much emphasis on SEO and all the other techno babble that goes with it.

Very well said shane... I would also like to add that people are very fast they dont even stop for 5 secs on a page... so thats the time in which you have to make a mark on them... when you succeed then you succeed.

And about the question how would you get trafiic... well there's really very good ways... the most important being the organic search engine rankings...

Telling a few important aspects of SEO let me twll you that the majority of traffic comes from the BIG G (google.com) thats what I like to say them... If you rank good there then it's sure that you would certainly get huge amount of traffic.. so now the question arises how to rank well there.. well its pretty much simple... as it may seem hard as you start...

There are few concepts... the important thing is that you write your own copy for your site... let it be very simple..it doesn't matter. But write...

Then comes the most important factor is link building just build you link with quality websites.. by quality i mean those have good content... and preferably related to your market... and with your primary keyword as your anchor text...
The anchor text is like this:

your primary keyword

see your primary keyword in betw. the href tags that is called anchor text...
