Thanks for the explanation re forums, karnetics I really appreciate it. In fact I have bookmarked this page for future use.

Beamup, I've been working on making squidoo lenses as back up to our sites. The time I spent there is really worth it. Squidoo is amazing!

Hello jcorkern, are you saying that it's better to have more text links than image links on your site?

For your internal links(navigation), it is better to have text links, this will bleed PR to other pages in your site and build their PR also, But i was talking about the value of links to your site from other sites, and text links are always best, but you do get some juice from banners.

Having more links means more exposure. More exposure increases your chances of drawing traffic IMO

more exposure(links) does not = more traffic when it comes to links.

I would rather have 300 of the "right" links and dominate the search engines and get 10k targeted visitors a month than 10k links that are not targeted and 300 visitors a month for non related links.

The math is simple. Which formula do you choose?

If you read the thread Article Marketing and SEO. The Super Advantages of Articles you will see that i got a job from the article i wrote for this thread. I had already retired and this thread brough a job, below are the stats from the start of the job, Yet there are less than 400 links from articles to this site.

These are the actual stat counts from the customer. I will take less links that are the "right" links over volume any day.

Not really, I have been doing my home work. I have found that there are several websites that have less that a 100 links on google and yahoo. But, ever time I search the keywords or phrases, the website(s) appear on the first result page. When I do a seo scan, I notice that these types of sites may have 80 something links on google and maybe 100 on yahoo. When checking the websites links, I have notice that these site do not talk about garbage. Some may have links to a few articles, others just have links that relate strictly to there site subject and content. I noticed these sites had enter at least 1 or more of their top keywords within their websites title and use the exact keywords within their link titles. I also noticed that these site had a PR rank of 1 to 4.

I have compared this to sites that used the same search term. I have found that just because a site has more links, means that you will get more traffic. Optimizing your site, and placing your keywords within your links exchanges is more helpful than posting a thousand links.

I guess it's really an easy Math: having many links doesn't guarantee traffic. So jcorkern is right. But Mr. Cat is not wrong either because what he's driving at is more links more EXPOSURE meaning more chances of getting traffic. It's good however that this has been cleared out.

By the way, jcorkern, I checked out the link re article marketing and SEO. I'm still not cleared about duplicate content though.

Thanks jcorkern. So is it OK to use a software that will create several versions of your article from title to Intro to content to Author sig?

I never said software is ok, I said it is ok to submit the same article to multiple directories.

You must be refering to article spinners. That may get the articles removed from directories for spamming.

I have not tested it, so i can't honestly tell you about article spinners, but if they check and the articles are similar, there is a risk that they will remove them.

I checked a lot of article spinners this weekend. It seems that they have this feature which measures degree or percent of uniqueness between versions of the article submitted to be spun. Is that a guarantee that you won't be wasting your time submitting to directories only to be deleted?
