Help starting affiliate program

I am as new as they come to this type of forum.

I hope to learn as much as possible in regards to affiliate based programs.

I'm amazed at the amount of useful information as well as the expertise within the site. I am extremely please that I found you guys.

What I am looking to do is establish a SUCCESSFUL affiliate program for a product line that we're launching in Q1 of 2008.

Can someone recommend a thread for beginners?
