Tracking image

I'm guessing that the little 1 x 1 image that affiliate merchants provide is used for tracking impressions. (If I'm wrong, please enlighten me.) I'm wondering how I should handle this image on a page where I'm deep-linking to half a dozen or so related products.

Each generated link includes this image, but by placing it on a single page multiple times, aren't I inadvertently inflating the tracking stats?

It's not necessary to use it, inquire with the merchant - some systems just have it built in.

as adsquare said you don't have to use it or you can place just one to track the whole page
