I think you have made the right choice in choosing Site Build It. I have three sites with SBI and all are bringing me good traffic and income. SBI has great tools that is so easy to use that anyone who has no technical background can create a keyword focus and search engine optimized web page with a few click. It also has step by step tutorial to guide you from choosing your niche, brainstorming keyword, website design, monetizing ideas to traffic generation. The best of all, there is a support forum where so many SBIers are willing to help you.

Strongly recommended.

PS: If you are a technical person, you may find SBI to be very restrictive as it does not allow php script

Subdreamweaver looks pretty good if you are on a budget and you want to learn to do stuff on your own.

Mind you, I have yet to come across a CMS system that i like, i'm open minded though!

My advice to newbies that i have trained in affiliate marketing is simple. BUILD THE SITE YOURSELF FROM SCRATCH! Get a free HTML editor, get a good domain name from someone like go daddy, build your site, host it at a good host like go daddy or hostgator. You must aim to build your site yourself. It may seem daunting but it is sooo very easy once you get the hang of it.

Did you mean Blogger, Jonnyr?

Blogger is really good for people new to online marketing. It is free and easy to use

My only concern with Blogger is the rumours that your blog could get deleted overnight. Now for someone building a business online, who has put a lot of effort into writing great, search engine optimized posts, generated traffic, losing the blog could be a major disaster.

I still think that hosting your own website is the way to go. You really cannot affort to go cheap when trying to build a business.

A hosting account with someone like godaddy would cost you about $10 a month. [If i remeber correctly]. And other people like hostgator or globat have similar deals.

I use blogger but only to generate traffic to my main websites. Not as my money making site.

I use NVU to do all the instructional videos and it's the exact software I used to start building my sites. It's free and it's just like using a word processor to build your sites. You see what you're doing while you are building so you don't have to learn how to do coding right off the bat.

Like Linda mentioned, it's easy to just go find templates to use them to build your site from. You can find tons of nice looking free templates if you search "free CSS templates" or "free HTML templates." They are free to use as long as you give credit to the designer in the footer, no biggie.

Once you get started, it will get easier and easier and you'll be cranking out websites in no time.

Practice makes perfect.

But, I will say that you definitely don't want to use free hosting. You want to have control of your website. Free hosting has a lot of ads and stuff that you may not want linked to your domain.

Default Joomla

Someone mentioned a paid CMS but why pay when you can use Joomla for free and it has such a huge range of functions to addon called mambots or plugins, components and modules.

It is a bit of a learning curve at first to work out how to make the menu links but overall once past that stage its like wordpress only better - no coding to do.You can generally install easily with fantastico thru Cpanel if your host has it.

Components include storefronts, classified ads, community pages, event managers - you name it - someone's made it and most are free to use including a great range of templates.
