Do I absolutely need a website to profit as an affiliate?

Do I need a website of my own to profit as an affiliate? I have one, that I got for free when signing up with a "make money from home" program. It was set up for me already as a review site, reviewing 5 different make money programs, but I don't really want to promote those kind of products because I think that there is too much competition. I don't know how to create my website to promote the products that I want so my site is just doing nothing right now. I was just wondering if it was crucial to have a website or if I could just promote the owners website through my affiliate link? Please help!
