Hi, I,m a newbie to this forum, but not of affiliate marketing. I,m still learning, but getting there.

Now, CB for newbies? That is how I started and through the months I learnt quite a bit. Here are some of my thoughts.

1. Do NOT use PPC for CB products unless you know what you are doing. You will be paying Google and others lots of money.

2. Start with FREE marketing methods. e.g. Blogs, Squidoo, article marketing, Ebay (where you sell free previews of CB products)

3. Choose a niche with a small amount of competition - do not go for the most popular products as you are competing with the pros.

4. If something doesn't work then try try again.

I haven't had much of a chance to look through this forum, however, there is LOTS of useful information for newbies to make some money.

So, there are some of my ramblings - which probably others have already said.!!

Last thing, if you don't know something, then ask.

Up until now it's been a pain, a cheque comes through, I have to find my paying in book and write out the slip then go out to the Post Office to pay it in, who then mail it to my bank 100 miles away .... then I wait up to 6 weeks.

Clickbank have been around years, so it's low risk - and all my traffic is organic so I am not paying for it. I see my CB earnings as a nice few quid out of an experiment I put together in a couple of hours. I am always onto the next/bigger thing, trying to up my game to the next level. Sometimes things aren't worth stressing about or you get bogged down with the little stuff. I figure: keep looking at the stars and don't worry about the dog **** you tread in.... you're going to find some along the way.

I am glad that you are doing well..

Ok...here is something that may help with the check issue...

Simply get in contact with their customer service department via the form on Clickbank, and ask them to "flush your account and send you a check."

They will do it.

And...

They are improving. My opinion is Clickbank just temporarily "grew out of their shorts", or got too popular, and is going through some growing pains.

They will be back.

All of this info on this page was very beneficial.. Agree.. I would not like for a company to hold my money for a year. But... I can imagine it would be a nice payout when you receive it. Also Earner, I would love to know what techniques to get organic listings to sell a lot on clickbank

Default I Concur with Some Pros and Cons

While there are some negatives, ClickBank still makes you money. There are negatives with many of the affiliate programs today. The thing to do is know the negatives and figure out a way to make them work for you.

I personally find Commission Junction and LinkShare to be among the top affiliate networks for affiliate marketers. And the other networks such as Shareasale, LinkConnector and others are a distinct second. Every Affiliate wants to avoid his/her affiliate code from being hijacked and commissions stolen. And while Clickbank seems to let it happen, they are improving.

But lets not forget the fact that many marketers are still making $100,000s monthly from items sold on Clickbank. No one should be writing Clickbank off just yet. As I mentioned earlier, know the negatives then find a way to make them work for you. Of course this will be difficult to newbies simply because they don't know enough, or who to turn to for trusted guidance.

What protects me is, I'm able to cloak my affiliate links and harness Clickbank's marketplace. As for the other negatives, there are plenty of Internet marketing tools and softwares that can fix current problems, as well as automate and manage your campaigns. Many tools are free over the Internet.

One of the tools I used, which is not free [a $47.00 investment] enabled me to harness Clickbank's marketplace. The ClickBank portal promotes also the Hottest eBooks and Softwares, so customer can enjoy getting their moneys worth. My store also enables me to promote my own product.

The Vendor makes things a lot easier for newbies and skilled marketers alike. For one, they constantly update the store and continue to promote the Hottest selling products as they come. So you don't need to worry or put in a lot of time figuring out which products are hot on ClickBank. It saves me a tremendous amount of time. You still have access to ClickBanks 10,000 products.

And there's more...

Affiliates have the luxury to sale other top products and services, unrelated to Clickbank. This gives you more power to earn and attract more customers. In addition you get a store full of solutions, and is designed to give you and your potential customers niche pages of related products. In other words, you can link customers to a specific niche page such as the Education category. This is niche marketing at best, which makes the store even more worth while if advertising on the PPC search engines.

The customer can also search for products on their own just as if they were on ClickBank's site.

Now the vendor that I'm speaking of also provides support and valuable instructions on how to become successful. Also offers a higher priced store which comes with 90 days of free traffic [visitors] to help you get started. Even with the lower priced store I brought, you automatically get potential customers initialiy--which time limited.

You get other instructions for marketing including other features. For instance, you get information about cloaking your affiliate links, which is something everyone needs to learn how to do. The portal store, in certain situations, will hide your affiliate code from potential customers.

I would suggest, in my humble opinion, don't take the negatives as a means to give up. After all you must remember, as a true affiliate marketer, your purpose is to find solutions. If you can't or won't take the extra step to finding solutions for yourself, how are you going to find the best solutions for your customers.

Lastly, I want to say again, there are plenty of people still making tons of money in the ClickBank marketplace. But this takes some skills. How on earth, can anyone become a skilled Internet marketer if they don't know exactly what they are doing.

Newbies should research everything and everyone prior to investing or purchasing, and don't totally rely on what others are telling them. To understand the Internet is to understand who's benefiting the most from what's being said. Seek and you shall find... be objective... research... that has always been my approach since the beginning. And keep seeking, until you find it. You may be surprised.

May you find prosperity to the fullest.

I've seen merchants switch from 1stshopping cart to clickbank, but I've not seen many switch from clickbank to anywhere else

I like the fact that, unlike Paydotcom, clickbank pays me and I don't have to depend on a merchant who may not even provide an email address. I still use Paydotcom as well and am also a merchant but I make sure I have emailed the merchant first and was contacted in return

One thing I don't like about clickbank for newbies is the lack of contact information. I want to know who my affiliates are that are not making sales so I can help them. The more money they make the more money my family and I make.

I really think clickbank is not sucxh a bad place for newbies to learn the rules of the trade. The ready made advertizer website, and large collection of digital products all in one place cannot be beaten.

The stipulation of so many sales fron different credit cards has been put in place, i think to discourage people buying from their own affiliate links.

As this is a relatively recent development in clickbanks history, it probably arose as a result of affiliates abusing clickbank
