Click Bank is a start for many people although it is definately not very profitable at first unless you have the money to fork out to advertise the product.

Same applies for any business venture offline or online

Linda, good job finding issues to motivate postings.

Looking back to my introduction to IM, Clickbank seemed to be a training ground. Many groups and individuals preyed on profit-hungry entry level marketers to promote their products through Clickbank. The system got abused and left many casualties.

Clickbanks reputation, new marketers spending a lot of money making a few sales, customers investing in products that failed to provide value. Eventually something had to happen.

I think most advertisers were not concerned with tracking but only with the promise of high conversion rates.

Unfortunately some quality products lost out because mostly the high payout products were pushed. Now maybe it is just a correction. Situations like were created can only last so long before marketers and customers get smart.

I personally lost faith in many Clickbank products a while back. This is just my perception of the situation.

After the updates to paydotcom I really prefer paydotcom and even payloadz

Default How to Promote

Affiliate marketing is a partnership. Isn't it the point that promotion is your part of the work? You don't have to fork out to promote as such but you do have to learn how to promote. You won't get paid until they see results.

If you don't want to pay for advertising you need to create a minisite with about 10 articles of information about the clickbank product you wish to promote. You need to learn seo, I noticed there's a forum here with a video about this. Then you need a landing page that sells the product - with a free report and form for an autoresponder if possible. Then you need to add pages to external sites that link to your landing page and article pages using the keywords that you have chosen. The ones you think a customer might use to search for information.

You need to do this for every single product you promote. You will have more success doing this than signing up for several different affiliate programs and just putting a single link up.

Nothing is as easy as putting a one page site with a link up - and nothing less likely to result in a sale with no promotion. If it sounds like work - it is. But once its done, it works for you continually long into the future with very little maintenance.

If clickbank products are displaying a high gravity etc - someone's selling them - but the keywords are - selling and marketing. I will concede that cj and paydotcom may have a better quality of product.

I don't think Paydotcom's products are better

I think their system is better

Affiliates cannot purchase with their own link
great support forum
snail mail products can be sold
separate sales pages per product with one account
products can now be grouped together
contact with affiliates is provided

I made my first (and only) sale on Clickbank the first day I started! That got me excited, so I tried several more niche products, but no sales yet. I blame that on bad placement on my site, and not enough traffic. I made that first sale through classifieds, so I may try that again.

In fact, adsense is the only thing making me any money right now, but it's only been a few months, so I'm patiently working on it. My adsense earnings did triple this month, which still isn't much, but it's progress. If they triple every month, I'll be set by June. Fat chance, hey?

Thanks, Linda. Great Video! I'm trying to hang in there. I must admit, I've had some RL issues going on, and haven't done much promotion at all.

So wanna hear some earth shattering statistics? I made my first Adsense money in November. In December, I increased that by 970%. In January, I increased December's earnings by 448%. Impressed? Well, you shouldn't be. I'm making a whopping .37 average a day. I've only had one day over $2, and that was less than $5, but that was yesterday, so hey, it's beginning to look up.

But like I said, considering I have done really no promotion, and in general only gotten around 100 pageviews a day, I'm sort of feeling good about it.

Just think what will happen when I really do some promotion!!!

I've just mostly been studying and trying to re-write my existing content for SEO. It seems to be working! I'm getting a lot more Google hits, like 1000% more, each week than I started out with in September. I didn't even put Adsense on my pages until November.

All in all, in affiliate marketing, I've made less than $50 probably. I really haven't added it up. I'll probably never get my money from Clickbank, because I'll never get up to the minimum! So make that less than $35.

Still, it's $35 I didn't have before, so I'm not complaining. Just looking at the progress I've made in two shorts months of doing not much of anything, and imagining what could be.
