Default Converting Dating Leads

I'm running a dating offer at the moment, which pays £1.50 per signup. I have a method that is very good for getting sign up's, but the conversion rate for this method, in regards to signing up for the full package, is terrible. The problem is I need 5% of my leads to be converted so I can get paid.

What do you feel is the best way to convert the leads into full sign up's? I don't need a huge amount, I just need 5% so I can receive payment for the other sign up's.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hmmm, I'd have to see the methodology you're using now to make that value judgement and have suggstions for you.

A lot of guys use incentive methods to get theirs, but that's not always a conversion ... depends on what the lead company considers "conversion."

The method I'm using now is great for sign up's, but like I said, it's pretty much non-existant for conversion. Therefore, that method should basically be ignored in regards to getting conversions.

The lead company considers paid sign up's as conversions. They consider free sign up's as leads.

Hope that helps, any other questions just ask, as I appreciate you trying to help.

I have worked with dating sites, and i have never gotten over a 1% conversion. This is a really tough market.

I used many different roads and they all produced limited results. I no longer push dating, just way too low in conversion rates.

This is the areas i have had better than average conversions.

Travel

Loans: Auto/payday Mortgage used to be good, but that fell off 2 years ago

Internet marketing (no longer do these as most are scams)

Wedding favors/Bridal

Baby items ect..

Pets

shoes

eyewear

books (lot of competition)

Software is hot, but hard to compete

these are the fields that seem to have above average conversions.

Contrary to popular belief, big screen T.V.'s do not sell online, Ipods are hard to sell now because of comp. But if you can get the traffic(has to be targeted to work), you can make money.

^ Thanks for the advice. The areas you listed helps me a lot, as I'm trying to do things away from dating.

Yet, I checked the dating site today and even though it said I need a 5% conversion rate, the leads have been accepted and the money added to my balance. I'm not sure what to think really, I'm worried that they'll take it away.

Here's the site I do leads for:

affiliates.easydate.biz

Would you say it looks legit? That question is addressed to anyone by the way.

I am sure that it is legit. But any company can go bad at any time, every businness has risk. That is the beauty of affliate marketing, you can change banners and links in a few mins.

If you are getting 5%, you are doing great, keep doing what you are doing.

The dating is a seasonal program, you will notice better conversions when it is cold(winter) because people tend to spend more time on the computer. Summer slacks off some because people go out more often. But every market has its pluses and its down time.

like payday loans, they do well around holidays and after christmas. but feb and march are slow months for some reason.

Just normal cycles, and you have to account for these times and look at a yearly average.

It is just a matter of testing long term. and think about the people who will be buying or using the service and what effects their surfing habbits and their motives.

It really just takes a little thought.

A roofing company should expect a slow winter, but summer should be great.

Where a site that sells coats will do well in late summer through mid winter and poorly the rest of the year.

It is all common sense.

That's the thing though, I haven't got 5% conversion. I haven't got any conversions, yet the leads have been approved. That's what's making me wonder if they'll actually pay out.

Good advice about the seasonal thing, I'll keep that in mind definitely. I plan to start marketing a few different areas soon.
