Rules for the Site Review Forum - Read Before Posting
Due to the fact that the site review forum is one of the only forums where you can talk about your own site or drop a link it is prone to abuse and like many other areas of the forum a 'few' have caused us to have to clamp down.
The Site Review Forum Description says: "Ask for a site review by 5 Star members. Webmaster and affiliate reviews only. No merchants, networks, service providers or forums etc."
Here are some clarifications and some additional rules we've had to add out of necessity because:
A) This part of the forum is designed to help newbies that need it
B) We don't want to waste the valuable time of our members by doing a site review for someone who doesn't really need it, but is only trying a sneaky way to self promote.
1) Affiliate site reviews only - primarily designed for newer affiliates that need help getting started or regular affiliates who are having a site problem and need advice.
If you are a web designer, service provider, merchant, network or any type of company that's just trying to get exposure or back links your post will be removed. If you are a 'company' as opposed to small affiliate, then you have staff and other outlets for professional advice about your site.
2) Be specific and tell us what you want reviewed! Check out my site or something lame like that is not allowed.
If you truly want a site review you have specific things you are worried about, need help with or opinions on. Elaborate. If it looks like just a way to promote your site and does not have any meat it may be removed.
3) You must have 10 posts before requesting a site review. Site reviews are a free service we offer to help "members in good standing". If a stranger drops by only asks for a site review, never participates, gives back, shares or doesn't even do an intro they are usually asking for a site review for the wrong reasons, aren't genuinely wanting help and it wastes our member's time to do a review in these cases.
It's good forum etiquette to post and get to know people before asking them to do something for you.
4) LIMITED SITE REVIEWS - A newbie affiliate only has one or two sites typically. Pros may have more, but should know enough about what they are doing that they only have an occasional need for help with a site.
Right now we will set the following limits:
A) Must have 10 posts and be a member in good standing to post a review request.
B) 1 site per review
C) No more than 1 review per week.
D) No more than 3 site reviews in one month.
If you are truly a newbie that's having trouble and have more sites than this you really need
help with PLEASE ASK! We don't want to limit newbies that are sincerely asking for help.
Our only intent is to limit reviews that are not genuine.
