Mike Tyson now or in 1998? Peewee now ? or in his prime when he was being pulled out of a porno theater?
Rob, i agree with you. That is why my suggestion was not to do this kind of site, that i even called a scam. My point was it can be and is effective for some still and is how many big guys out there became "big guys:
People do very well making money telling others how to do it, I can but will not point out several popular industry "experts" that speak at trade events, have blogs that people follow, and who make money doing just that - telling other how to make money
Not my point, sorry if I wasn't more clear. I say it so often I assume everyone knows what I mean.
Make money online is NOT a good place for a newbie who has no idea how to make money online themselves yet. It's hyper competitive and filled with sharks that know how to capitalize on newbies and even steal their commissions from them.
AFTER you get experience and know how to market you know enough to make the decision WHAT to market and can sell whatever you choose.
I know all the guys that make money teaching how to make money and think it's just great. BUT they are teaching from experience. They aren't a newbie with a "Let me show you how I make a mint online blog" who turns around and says "how do I get started and how long til I'll make money"
So my comments were just for newbies - just saying to start with an easier less competitive market to learn the ropes.

Linda - i agree with you and rob and i do not suggest this for a newbie, in fact i don't suggest it for a veteran unless they have documented proof of success. I think someone new and not proven telling someone else how do what they themselves have never done and make money doing it - I call that a scam.
i don't speak from experience as I have never been into that kind of marketing, but i do see it out there and seems to be sticking around. It's one of the things i can't stand about internet marketing and one i wish stayed on late night paid TV infomercials.
I never thought of how a newbie could get taken advantage of in that realm and thinking about it, i do see your point there.
Again just was pointing out it is being done, but i hands down would never suggest it.
Like the others I tend to agree that your chosen niche is not for the inexperienced, however that is no reason to drop the idea completely.
If you are passionate and enthusiastic about the subject then you will learn what you need to know, but THIS subject matter is one that does require knowledge, experience and usually a proven track record.
For what it's worth my advice is similar to that of the others - get more experience in other niches and actually start making money. That experience alone will take you one step nearer your goal.
There's a chance Peewee Herman would survive 12 rounds with Mike Tyson too.
It doesn't mean it's a good idea to advise Peewee to go for it.
ROFLMAO Rob! How in the world did I miss that one?
You crack me up and I totally agree!

The funniest part is that I've gotten so much hits to my site because of you guys joking around LOL.
Thanks for all the input guys.. even the harsh criticism. I really appreciate all of it. I'm still going at it but also exploring alot of other options as well

Looking at one of your sites, it seems that you are making your money off of doing offers and surveys through other sites. As the owner of one of "those" other kind of sites, I can tell you that you would be making twice as much off of those offers if you were working directly with the networks. For example, you probably get paid somewhere around .50 to 1.10 for taking Greenfield Online surveys. You can make 1.10 to 1.50 yourself on them. Why not jump into affiliate marketing just a bit on those blogs by signing up with Greenfield directly and promoting those daily surveys yourself? Then once you start to feel comfortable promoting some of the free offers and surveys (things like Ideal Bite newsletter through Shareasale, OTX surveys through Panthera, etc), you'll feel more comfortable moving into promoting merchants and products.
Just a thought from someone who started in a similar place to you.

Thanks! I've never heard of that before and I'll be sure to look it up!
And yeah I have been increasing my earnings so far actually.. So it's going pretty well.. I'm kinda glad I stuck through with it.
I'm also looking into affiliate marketing, by only problem is i'm a horrible sales person and i don't think i'd sell very well.
But I appreciate your advice greatly! and yup we all start somewhere don't we?
So this thread has gotten alot of attention and feedback over the time I've created it, and everyone seemed to have their opinion, which I value greatly! I do believe in everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
However, my reason for posting today is to let everyone know, that despite the discouragement on my site and all the opinions that I was in the wrong niche etc etc, over the course of time, I've managed to rise in the search engines and I'm currently on 2nd page of Google for a VERY difficult and saturated keyword phrase.
I wanted to say thanks to everyone that replied on this thread, because I took all the feedback and was determined to turn it into something positive.
Also, over the time I've started, which is coming to be almost a year, I've managed to make $2500 online so far. It may not be a ton, but like I've said before, everyone starts somewhere, and it's $2500 I didn't have before I started doing this so I'm grateful for it!
