Default Site Review Please

Hi Fellow Affiliates,

I am a total newbie used to work in Finance and now i released my 1st info. book.
I just put my site up on Tuesday, sold 1 book the 1st 15 minutes after 1 post in a Debt Forum and there has been nothing since.

I have put about 10 videos across 13 different sites, ran some online classified ads and nothing.

And I have not had any luck getting affiliates. Am I pricing it too low, where affiliates are not wanting $10 per sale, or what do you guys think?

Now, I know its only been a few days so maybe I am being impatient, which is very likely.

So take a look at the page and let me know what you think.

DebtSettlement4Idiots

Thanks Much!

Well...

I know the [bookname] for Dummies was a real success, but the word idiot seems to have a bit of a negative connotation to me. Perhaps that is just me. That right there may be keeping some folks from clicking. I've not had any experience with ebook marketing so I'll leave those suggestions of your site up to those who have.

Honestly, that is the type of page that I click away from as soon as I can find the back button.

I know there are a lot of pages like this out there - garish, yellow highlighting, exaggerated too-good-to-be-true claims, often with fake-looking testimonials, etc., I guess, but I can't imagine why.

Personally, I think you'd have more success with something more restrained and professional looking. But I a rank beginner at affiliate marketing myself so feel free to ignore me.

I agree with all the comments above.

Plus with FireFox I'm see these question marks all over the page.

Ya 7 days: I was thinking with the success of the "for Dummies" series and with the other 4idiots guidebooks, fat loss, how to be taller, etc. But maybe your right.

Linda: in your Firefox browser you see literally ?
thats weird, I use Firefox and I dont see that

All great points

I was looking using Firefox 3.0.15 and I did not see any of those question marks in the diamonds. Perhaps it is a version specific quirk.

Cmoney,

I have seem a million sites like this and they usually send me on my way. I am not saying that your book isn't worth getting, or that it might not help someone in need of it, but I think your website is hurting you in its layout. It is very plain looking to me. It doesn't grab my attention, and that is what you need with a site like this.

If it was my site some things I would think of doing differently would be as follows.

Design a logo or header of some sort and a footer to go with it.

Only use Italic text to bring attention to something you want your viewer to notice. not whole paragraphs.

Use bullets or bullet images to stress your features and benifts. Only use yellow backgrounded text for the most crucial benifit, if at all.

Use headings down the page to point out the different sections of your sales page and make those headings with the benefits your book is offering. Most people skim, and the headings are for skimmers. You want to make the headings so a skimmer will still be able to understand what the benefits of your product are without reading the whole page.

Lastly I would use a heading above your book images, but have the text scroll to the right of the image. That will bring more focus to the image and it won't be standing alone in a space of whiteness all by itself. The images look good so give them some company. You might want to add just a little more text about each image as well some are only one liners. You don't want a whole article, but a little more info for each would help I believe.

I hope this helps and good luck with your book.
