Default What am I doing wrong here?

Hey all,
I have 2 sites that I have been working with trying to push.

www.TheSportsBlitz.com which is a content driven sports fan site and www.AlwayzShoppin.com which is a shopping site.

Nothing has converted in what is now 7 months.

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks much in advance
JP

Default Review of your sites

Hi JP,

OK....to be honest, I don't understand the Sports site. The immediate huge ad popup...always a bad idea. If you must use a popup, use a smaller one and don't just stuff an ad in there....offer your visitor something of value to join your newsletter list.

There is no focus on the site....do you know how many sites you are competing with on a general sports theme? Plus, you are stacked with too many ads...You need to drill down and decide on a niche in sports because there is no compelling reason to come back to your site when I know I can go to ESPN.com or even Yahoo to get my sports information.

The same thing applies to your shopping site...no direction, no focus. A general shopping site will NEVER make you money. You must specialize in some specific vertical to be able to compete.

If I were you, I would scrap these sites and get focused on some very specific verticals in the sports and shopping markets and sell a product or very small specialized product line that you are an expert in.

Big general sites are not the way to go unless you have millions in advertising dollars to blow.

This many not be what you want to hear, but I can guarantee that from my experience you are barking up the wrong tree with the current site designs.

Good luck,

Rod
