Default Site review would be appreciated

I have been working on this site for the past two months.
It is about affiliate marketing. I have been involved in affiliate
marketing for some time. However, this is my first website.

The URL is
http://www.affiliatemarketsecrets.com

Any comments would be appreciated. I know that I find new
problems every time I review the site. However, I think that
it is just about ready.

I am particularly interested in comments about the content.
Primarily this will be a content site with links to affiliate
marketing.

Thanks for any and all reviews.

Hi Lonnie,
I just had a click jaunt over to your site, and please forgive me, but my initial reaction was...not another sales letter and with AdSense. Of course, I'm jaded.

The red on the site can add a bit of spice, but in this case, I found it to be distracting.

As for the content (I didn't read through all of it), I did notice some grammatical/spelling errors littered throughout the front page. It may be a good idea to do some proofreading, or have someone else who hasn't seen the copy a number of times proofread it. It's very easy to make mistakes when you've read something a number of times because the eyes tend to skim more instead of reading word for word.

Another recommendation would be to use headings (i.e. h2, h3, and so forth) to make the information easily scannable. For instance, "So, what are the secrets of affiliate marketing residual income?" could easily be a second or third level heading because it explains what the next section will be about.

My next question would be, what are the purposes of the two lower blocks in the side column? As far as I can tell, neither add any additional value to the site. I actually expected them to be links which would take me to additional information and was disappointed when they weren't.

To finish up, I'd consider adding a bit more information about you and why someone should follow your advice. So far, all we know is that you supplement your income through affiliate marketing, but nothing specific. How long have you been at it, what are some of your successes, your strengths, reasons we should trust what you say, and so forth.

For a first site, you've done a nice job. Some polishing and you'll have a winner on your hands.

Hope it helps.

~ Teli

P.S. You should consider adding your signature via your Profile control panel, then you won't need to edit your entries to add one.

Hi Lonnie,

Yep I totally agree. There are a number of grammatical and spelling errors on your homepage. Normally I tune off or leave a site all together when I notice a spelling mistake. I think it would be a great idea to get someone to proof read your site. But the content is good and I like the overall feel of the site.

Teli gave some amazing advice and you did well to ask for some feedback. I hope it works out, I will check in on your site from time to time to see how things are changing.

I like your banner and your site is easy to navigate. I would consider giving away something for free and starting a mailing list.

If you site gets decent traffic I bet you will do pretty well with adsense too.

Default Feedback

At first glance the site looks short. I would recommend adding a few graphic or imagery just to add some value to the site.

A good idea is to create an image of an ebook and make your own cover on what you are selling. This means that when the visitor see's the free ebook download they also see something visual and it will enable them to feel they are downloading something of value.

Your site also looks like an advert not a website which is not ideally the approach you should take.

I have alot of experience within this field so if you every would like some more info please feel free to ask.

Good luck
